You can check the state and operation of your blood glucose monitor with the help of a blood glucose control solution. 

The solution is manufactured with a known and set amount of glucose. When administered on the meter, you can test if the meter has been able to detect the number accurately. The glucose in our blood fluctuates, so using a blood glucose control solution is an accurate way to ensure your meter is functioning properly.

If you believe your Codefree Blood Glucose Meter is giving inaccurate or inconsistent results, perhaps they are unusually high or low or inconsistent with previous results, and you have carried out the SD Check Strip Test with a new test strip, then we suggest that you run an SD Control Solution check test. The control solution check ensures that you are doing the test correctly and that your meter is working properly.

Why you should do a control solution test:

• SD Control Solution is used to check that the meter and the test strips are working together as a system and that the meter gives accurate results.

How to Use Blood Glucose Control Solution

Blood glucose control solution is simple to use and works the same as testing your own blood glucose levels. Follow these steps:

• Insert a new test strip into your glucose monitor.
• Shake the blood glucose control solution in the bottle. 
• Dispense a drop of the solution to a hard, clean surface. 
• Hold the test strip to the sample. 
• Check the monitor results and compare it to the appropriate test solution range.
