No, an ovulation test is specifically designed to detect the surge in Luteinising Hormone (L.H.) that precedes ovulation and is not meant to detect pregnancy. Ovulation tests are focused on identifying the best time for conception by tracking your fertile window, which typically occurs a few days before ovulation. For detecting pregnancy, you should use a dedicated pregnancy test designed to detect the hormone hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) present in your urine after successful conception. So, while ovulation tests are valuable for tracking fertility, they cannot provide accurate results for confirming pregnancy.
The sensitivity of a test determines how early it can detect the presence of specific hormones. The 20mIU sensitivity is ideal for detecting ovulation, while the 10mIU sensitivity is perfect for early pregnancy confirmation.
The ideal time to begin testing depends on your menstrual cycle. Check the included chart to determine when you should start testing for accurate results.
No, these tests are not designed for contraception. They are meant for ovulation tracking and pregnancy confirmation. If you are seeking contraception options, please consult your healthcare provider.
Most common substances, such as alcohol, painkillers, and antibiotics, will not affect the test results. However, medications containing HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin) can produce false positives. If you have doubts about your results or your period has not yet arrived, consult your doctor for advice.
