Pregnancy Midstream tests measure the presence of pregnancy hormone hCG. The levels of hCG in non-pregnant women are usually around 5mlU/ml. These tests are designed to detect hormone levels over 10mlU/ml and can detect such as early as four days before the date of your missed period.
Midstream pregnancy tests show effective results if used correctly. They can either be dipped into a urine sample or directly into a stream. Test results can be invalid if the test is under wet or over wet. If using it as a midstream test, position the test downwards in your urine stream for 10 seconds. If using as a dip test, submerge the testing strip into the sample for 20 seconds.
Testing for pregnancy can be a nerve-racking time, so our range of testing options are designed with this in mind. For more information on fertility and family planning, please read ‘Family Planning’.
