Syphilis is a bacterial infection caught by having sex with someone already infected. It can usually be cured with a short course of antibiotics but can cause severe problems if left untreated. That’s why it’s so necessary to get tested and treated as soon as possible if you think you might have syphilis. Typical symptoms can include small skin growths, a blotchy red rash and small painless sores or ulcers. Syphilis will not go away by itself, and getting tested is the only way to find out if you have it.
This test requires the use of a lancet, so it is only suitable for professional use. It comes complete with everything needed to conduct the test accurately with a simple positive or negative result. The antibody response to the TP bacterium required for a positive Syphilis result can be detected within 4 to 7 days after infection. Following a positive result, please seek further medical advice.
